It's rarely the technical round that trips up freshers. It's the open-ended questions at the start and end of the interview.
"Tell me about yourself"
This isn't an invitation to recite your resume. Give a 60-second arc: where you started, what you've learned, and what you're looking for next.
"Why should we hire you?"
Avoid generic claims like "I'm a hard worker." Tie one specific strength directly to something in the job description.
"Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
Interviewers want to know you've thought about growth, not that you have the exact job title memorized. Talk about the kind of impact you want to be making.
Questions about gaps or low grades
Answer briefly, honestly, and move forward. Dwelling on it signals more insecurity than the gap itself ever would.
